Meet The Monroe Family Dentistry Team

Rita was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in Monroe, North Carolina. She enjoys both city and country life. Rita loves dancing, getting a good workout at the gym, and traveling to new destinations. She is happily married with three children, who are her greatest passion in life and keep her constantly active. Rita has been in the healthcare industry since May 2007. She loves seeing the impact she can make on others by always being a helping hand. It’s very important to her to help each patient plan and complete their dental treatment. She feels the most rewarding part of her job is interacting with new patients while nurturing relationships with existing ones. Rita’s goal is to provide the best service to every patient and ensure they leave the office with a smile.

Priscilla is our patient coordinator, she was born in Los Angeles, California. She was brought to North Carolina with only 6 months of age and was raised in the city of Monroe. Priscilla is a nurturer at heart. She loves being a mommy to her little boy, Alessandro and enjoys cooking and learning new recipes to share with her loved ones. She joined the healthcare industry May of 2016 and has found great joy inbeing able to build relationships with every patient and help them reach their dental goal.

Maria strives to make every patient feel comfortable. She won the PDT award in recognition of exceptional clinical skills and compassionate patient care during her graduation ceremony at CPCC. She is also from Los Angeles, California, and enjoys hot weather. She feels like she is an approachable and kind person. She loves to cook and draw on her free time. She is a big movie fanatic and likes to take vacations to the beach. She loves being a dental hygienist and aims to help people with their oral health in a non-judgmental setting.

Porshua Mckoy Burrell is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated in 2021. Excels in providing gentle, thorough, and patient-centered care. She is certified to administer local anesthesia and is committed to helping each patient feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their oral health journey. Porshua began her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in 2017, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical care and patient communication. Her passion for preventive care and building lasting relationships with patients led her to pursue dental hygiene, where she continues to make a positive impact through education and hands-on care. Known for her warm demeanor and attention to detail, Porshua takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Whether she’s performing cleanings, offering oral hygiene tips, or helping patients overcome dental anxiety, her goal is always to support long- term oral health and overall wellness. Porshua is happily married and raises three spirited, energetic teenagers who keep life full of joy and momentum. She has her godson most of the time who is the most precious baby that brings so much love and bonding time among her family.

Jasmin Jauregui is our dental assistant, she was born in Sarasota, Florida and moved to Monroe NC as a teenager. She has been in the healthcare industry since March 2008, her favorite thing about the dental field is having the opportunity to care, help, and educate our patients. Her goal is for her patients to always have a great experience at our office. She loves to interact with patients and enjoys getting to know them. You’ll always hear her voice when you come into our office, she loves to sing to every song that is playing. Jasmin is married and has three beautiful children Luis, Melanie, & Lorenzo. When she is not in the office assisting Dr. Mjahed, Jasmin enjoys movie nights with her husband and kids. Every now and then she will make trips to Florida and enjoy a weekend out at the beach.

Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Ashley has been proudly working in the healthcare industry since 2015. She’s passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive experience for every patient and strives to make sure no one leaves the office without a smile. Outside of work, she enjoys the peacefulness of country living and loves exploring new places whenever she gets the chance. She’s happily married and a proud dog mom to two pups who hold a special place in her heart. When she’s not traveling or enjoying the outdoors, you can find her spending quality time with family and friends.
